i planted some bulbs last sunday, and all but the freesia show growth. I know they will need to grow roots before anything else, but when shall i excpect them?

Be patient, if you only planted bulbs a week ago I am really surprised you saw any "green" that quickly. They must have been ready to sprout, freesia may just take longer.
